Lao 2 stringed violin, common in this region and in Lao called SAW OU, there is another version which is at a higher pitch called SAW DUANG, also used is a 3 stringed version called SAW SAM SAI (3 -Sam, string-Sai, Saw)

Morocco. Marrakech. Once upon a time, every Moroccan city had a main square where storytellers and musicians entertained the townspeople. Even then, Marrakech’s Jemaa el Fna drew the greatest variety of performers, and the best. Now, it’s the only one left. By day there are just a few entertainers, but in the evening it becomes a whole carnival. Come here and you’ll son be squatting amid the onlookers and contributing a dirham or two. If you want a respite from the action, you can climb up to one of the rooftop terraces overlooking the square ( the Argana and the Café du Grand Balcon have the best views) to take it all in over a refreshing pot of mint tea.
